Another great summer tennis tournament is coming to Hobart.

Sports and Events Minister Nic Street said people needed to get there early.

“Tickets for the 30th^t “Tickets go on sale today for the Hobart International Tennis Tournament, which will be held to mark the city’s anniversary,” said Minister Street.

“After the huge success of last summer’s event, the 2025 edition is an event not to be missed.

“Judging by last year, it will be important to jump in the water and secure your tickets.”

The Hobart International is a fixture on our state’s summer events list.

“This tournament has a well-established reputation for discovering rising stars,” Minister Street said.

“The Tasmanian Government has been a proud and long-standing supporter of this summer event, investing a total of $1.5 million between 2023 and 2027 to ensure the tournament’s continued success.

“There are over 40 tennis clubs across the state, with close to 4000 members. We know that Tasmanians are inspired by Hobart International, pick up a racket and get into action.

“This event will give Tasmanians the chance to see the best riders in action, right in their own home, and by purchasing your tickets now you can be sure you won’t miss out.”

In previous years, the WTA tennis tournament has featured such world stars as Serena Williams in 2007, Sam Stosur in 2014 and 2020, Eugenie Bouchard in 2016 and Ash Barty in 2017.

“We can’t wait to see who will appear on our courts during the 30th edition of the event.^t “year,” said Minister Street.

The Hobart International will run from 4th to 11th January.
