On August 29, five boys were charged with participating in several break-ins and attempted break-ins in Forest Lake.

They are suspected of breaking into several restaurants and businesses along Forest Lake Boulevard, Grand Avenue and Woogaroo Street, smashing glass and stealing cash registers.

Three boys, a 16-year-old from Inala, a 17-year-old from Acacia Ridge and a 17-year-old from Warwick, were allegedly involved in similar burglaries at businesses on Gehrke Road in Plainland on Sept. 4.

The trio are alleged to have been involved in further burglaries at premises on Oxley Station Road in Oxley, several restaurants in a shopping centre on Beenleigh Road, Sunnybank Hills, and several businesses on Joseph Banks Avenue and Forest Lake Boulevard in Forest Lake on September 4.

Police also allege a 16-year-old boy from Inala and a 17-year-old boy from Warwick also smashed glass panels to steal cash and goods from several businesses on Old College Road, Railway Street and Western Drive in Gatton on September 1.

The other two youths, 17-year-old Doolandella and the 17-year-old Gatton brothers, were also involved in a series of break-ins in Graceville and Sherwood on August 20, during which they forced entry and stole property from a number of businesses on Honour Avenue, Bank Road and Sherwood Road.

A 16-year-old boy from Inala and a 17-year-old boy from Warwick were arrested in Warwick on September 4.

They have each been charged with 94 property offences and are due to appear in Toowoomba Youth Court on September 5.

Brothers Gatton and Doolandella, 17, were arrested in St George earlier this week on September 2.

The 17-year-old from Gatton has been charged with 43 property offences and is due to appear at St George’s Children’s Court on September 9.

The 17-year-old boy from Doolandella has been charged with 50 property offences and is due to appear in the Brisbane Children’s Court again on September 23.

The 17-year-old Acacia Ridge boy has been charged with 57 property offences and is due to appear in Richlands Children’s Court today, September 6.

Senior Sergeant Justin Suffolk of the Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch said the investigation demonstrated exemplary work carried out by the Centenary Crime team in partnership with intelligence and forensics teams, the Tactical Crime Squad in St George and local detectives in the Darling Downs.

“Through exceptional investigative work, this multi-disciplinary team successfully identified and tracked down the youths allegedly responsible for a series of commercial burglaries across south-east Queensland earlier this week.

“Their persistence and rapid response allowed us to bring to justice the alleged participants involved in this case and hold them accountable for the significant business disruption and other harm they caused.”
